Please help me figure out why my Desk-top Computer shuts dow

Specs: Windows 64
Why does my Desk-top Computer keeps shutting down when not in use. No power... How can I prevent this?

No computer specs or model number supplied. Is it an old computer? could be shutting down due to overheating. When's the last time you blew the dust out of it?

Check your power settings. You could have it set to make the computer go to sleep after a specific amount of time or you could have it set for the hard drive to power down after a certain amount of time which can interfere with sleep states and cause a frozen condition or shut down. I personally set the hard drive to Never, the sleep to Never on AC and 10 Minutes on battery (UPS on desktop).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
