Outlook 2k16 Calendar Reminders

Specs: Windows 10, 16
I am using Outlook 2016 to access my Verizon email. I am not using an Exchange server. I have it configured to use a .PST
I receive an alert notifcation for a yearly event, such as someone's birthday. When I look in Outlook Calendar, for the day of that event, I do not see it listed for that day. When I open it, it tells me it was set up on January 11, 2004. How come I do not see this event in the calendar but I still get notifcations for it?

Presuming you didn’t set these alerts/reminders... possibly you have malware or worse present?

Have you run the usual cleaners?

CCleaner, malwarebytes, adwarecleaner being the usual starters?

There are free versions of all three; all quite safe to install/run.

The free versions require you to manually update their definitions, whereas the paid for versions do it in the background. I find the free versions more than adequate, and run them at regular intervals - even on a Mac system.

Could it be a birthday reminder from a Contact card? I don't use Outlook 2016, but I have that function on my Android phone.

thank you for the information. -- i do not think its due to the birthday being in contacts since i do not have their birthday in contacts. Is there a utility or something i can use to clean the outlook calendar?
I downloaded and installed the cleaners that were mentioned, i hope they resolve some of the other issues.
