Solved My printer worked normally until you did an update

January 17, 2017 at 01:53:58
Specs: Windows 10
I allowed an update several days ago and since then I get this annoying response from the printer
asking me to save not print. I handle this by saving to the desktop then printing from the saved file but this is stupid, doesn't encourage me to allow you to update me another time. Why was this changed?????

1- When you select print from a document, look at the print options on the print box that comes up. Uncheck the "Print To File" check box and it should print normally.
*If that does not work then do this:
2- Go to the printer manufacture's web site and under Support>Downloads>Drivers do a search for the driver for your printer for your operating system and download it. Save it to the Desktop. Go to 'Devices and Printers', right click on your printer icon and select Delete. Close this box and reinstall the printer with the install software you just downloaded. Choose to make it your default printer and print the test page.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Nothing here at Computing.net would update anything on your computer or printer etc.. Computing.net doesn't update anything...

Exactly what was the update you carried out; where did the prompt originate and what exactly was the update?

What make and model is your printer?

What on earth made you think that this forum updated your computer?

If you feel like flaming then at least choose those who might be remotely responsible, not people who provide computer help for free in their own spare time.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

You mean you meant to say, "After I updated my printer stopped working".

Has your default printer selection changed? Maybe it did after "your" update

I don't need to be right, but I am never wrong.
