my canon TS5100 wont print any documents sent

Specs: Windows 10
to print but it will print the test page will copy and will scan what is the problem that is the problem no matter how many words I put it in 11 documents are lined up but nothing is printing yet if I go to troubleshoot and it requests me to do s= a test page this will print many thanks mary

So normal trouble shooting in this kinda situation would include a restart of the printer, and restarting the print spooler.

If you have done those attempts aleady. The next step I would suggest is a removal of the printer. Then if it is USB based, install the software from the manufacturer wait until it suggests you attach your device and install the software.

Otherwise if it is network based do the same but leave your device online.

The forum is populated by volunteers from all over the globe; in different times zones and so on. They come on here as/when possible. So sometimes one may have to a "little patient" whilst waiting for help and possible solutions.

Have you looked at the print queue for your printer to see if there is one document that is "stuck" at the head of the queue and thus blocking al others from printing?

Has this problem "just arrived" or has it been there from the start - i.e. is the printer a new installation or been with you for a while?

Also - see if the checklist etc.here helps at all?

Click on the start icon (lower left on taskbar).
Scroll to Windows System and click the arrow.
Click Control Panel.
Under Hardware & Sound click View Devices & Printers.
If your printer is listed, make sure it is selected (green check mark) (right-click printer and set to "default printer."
If your printer is not listed you need to install it and associated drivers (software should have come with the printer or you can download from the Canon site).

First, I would make sure that I noted any documents I really need to print, then I would delete all documents from the queue. Then I would unplug the printer for half a minute, plug it in, turn it on, and immediately restart the computer.
This solves nearly 80% of simple printing problems.
If this does not fix it then go to Devices and Printers and delete the printer (do not remove software if asked). The add the printer back again with the add printer option and use existing driver. St as default. Try it. This should fix about 90% of the remaining problems if the first did not work.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

had to buy a new printer this is the second time this has happened in 2 years with the canon printer and I couldnt get any help from them

Very odd...

Did you try totally removing (as in uninstalling) the printer and then re-installing it afresh?

You install the usb drivers first and then move onto network drivers; as per the (Canon at least) manual.

Occasionally this approach works for just about any current printer; especially the all in one types...
