Gigabyte / Ga-78lmt-s2p

Specs: Windows 10, 8gig
I am not sure how to describe this but here goes...when I open a folder, the explorer icon on the bottom of the screen for example I expect the window to contain all the contents in the form of folder icons or small jpgs with a description of the contents. I get a square with tiny icons down the side, no descriptions, no text, no pictures. I cant provide a picture because I have no controls. Where is the problem

There should be a drop down menu somewhere near the top right of the window to choose the type of icon shown in that window. I am on Windows 7 right now so I cannot describe it better at this time.
If this does not fix it and/or it is the same on all windows you might have an infection and it could get worse if not addressed. Try running Malwarebytes free version.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Could you take a snap of what you are describing (snipping tool or whatever) then put it on a file sharing website? File Convoy is free - you just upload the file, get the URL from them and paste it on here. You don't need to use their email facilities.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Fingers and Derek thank you for your replies. Unfortunately for both replies I was completely unable to see anything on screen BUT i did see a notification that there was an update pending so I thought "what the heck" let it do its thing so I did. I let it restart and Microsoft in all its wisdom put everything back to normal and the problem was miraculously fixed. I have no idea what caused the problem in the first instance or how it repaired itself, But it goes again and that's all that matters.

Thank you again for your interest, regards
