Microsoft Edge Has A Mind of Its Own?

Specs: Windows 10
Is there any way of stopping Edge from launching itself????? I don't want it. Yet I open something else up (like Outlook) and the damn thing keeps popping up. I prefer to use Chrome.

You have to set Chrome as the default. Here's how: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/...

Chrome IS set as default! That's why I'm so frustrated.

If it is just MS Office and other software like Outlook see if there is a setting in Outlook, Office or similar for their own default.
In the settings (I think advanced) for Edge shut off the browser assistant (I forget what it is called) since that may live outside of the browser at times like you are experiencing.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Look for Edgeblock v1.2, guaranteed to stop Edge

Actually it gives you the option to allow edge too, and it's free.

The last reply has set me trying a different route (thanks for that) although my antivirus software is telling me that Edgeblock is not a trusted site!

I got the same message and ignored it. Edge has been "off-line" for months now with no problems. I use Firefox and when I need to use my Netflix to cast I use Chrome.
