Specs: Windows 10
My laptop.ks hooked by VGA to a separate monitor cuz the screen is broken. I tried to Mirror it to my Roku by pressing the "Windows" key and P and whatever I did, caused the separate monitor to be blank now. Can I press a button combo or what to restore back to the previous setting? (The monitor still works in just somehow changed the projection mode) HELP!! pLZ

When pressing "Win+P" key again, your computer should switch to the next monitor feature (only local screen, only external screen, both screens (mirror screen).

Most laptops have the Fn (Function) key, and one of which will have a symbol representing a display.

Prior to win-7 you hold down the Fn key and then press the top row function key (usually blue) which has that display icon on it. Each time you press the that hey the display cycles to the next option. Usually the options are built-in display only; external - only; both displays.

For win-10 etc... this article from McGill University (in Canada) gives you more detailed info: (essentially what "paulsep" has posted; but with illustrations...
