I have a ASUS notebook and after five weeks of not using the notebook I forgot the password. I kept trying but all the sudden a blue screen poped up stating HDD a password. When I didn't have a HDD password it ask for a master password of which I don't no either.I call ASUS and a employee told me the notebook was under warranty and to send it to them, which I did. Af ter a week ASUS emailed me and said Idamaged the notebook and the warranty is invalaid. Is there a way that I can get password to get my notebook to boot?
We can't provide you with the HDD password. Did ASUS offer the option to repair the damage and to unlock it for a price since the warranty is invalid? That is the only way your are going to be able to unlock it.
If you get this sorted you need to write down the password and put it away in a safe place. As you get older it is easier to forget passwords. It is also worth considering whether a password is necessary at all. Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
