Specs: Windows 10

I neglected to ask part 2 of my initial problem (see link above), but in hindsight, I think it is best to keep this question separate. When I disabled all of my add-ons (in hopes of correcting my problem of "recover webpage") in case one of them was corrupt, I was wondering which ones, if any, can I omit from turning back on. I have disabled Shockwave Flash, xmlhttp3.0 and 6.0 Do I need any of these, ever? I don't game on line, I don't use Microsoft security incase any of these add-ons have anything to do with this.

Re #2. The other two would be used if you were programming.

Re #3. Very few people need Java any more and it can be a security risk. The best way to deal with those Helper entries is to go to "Control Panel > Java icon > Security tab" and uncheck "Enable Java content in the browser". They will then be disabled. If you use Internet banking double check that you can still access your account (almost certain these days). In the unlikely event that you need Java in the future you can always enable it in the browsers again.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Shockwave Flash might still be used for videos on webpages so keep that enabled.

I doubt you will need the other two and I would be inclined to disable them. They can always be enabled again should the need arise.

Thank you for your quick response. Under what circumstances would the other 2 be used?
