I am buying a new computer. What will “ghost” software allow me to copy from the old computer to the new one?Thank you.

Ghost (the actual software by that name) used to be fashionable way back in the days of NT4... Nowadays most new hard drives come with a cut down version of Acronis or similar; and that enables you to clone the olde drive to the new. If the (free) utility isn’t “in the box” with the new drive then it’s usually available on the appropriate website.
As regards transferring personal data, files etc., the simplest way is to connect the olde drive via a usb adapter to the new computer; then access/copy that content over from olde to new.

trvir, Thank you for your response. Will this software copy applications from the old drive to the new one?
Thank you.
Brian W
No, If you were replacing the hard drive on an older computer, you can clone the entire drive over to the new one.
It will not allow you to move programs from an older computer to a new computer, they still have to be installed so you will need the program installer. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
"Will this software copy applications from the old drive to the new one?" No. "Ghost" software is used for cloning. You're going to have to install all your programs to the new PC from scratch.
Fingers and riider, Thank you for your responses. After I copy my data, I’ll reinstall my applications.
Thanks again,
Brian W
Yes. Enjoy the new machine. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
