There are many options for emails.
One is to use the one from your Internet Service Provider (ISP) that you get your internet service from.
This can be using an email client (email program) or through any web browser (Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox, Chrome, etc)
The second is to use one of the internet based free email services like GMail from Google. This option is typically accessed through your web browser.
Your ISP should have instructions to set it up online and through their help desk.
To use Google you just go to Google.com, select Email at the top of the page and you can follow the prompts to create a new account. Then you just return to the same page and go back to the email page. If you are using your home computer, it should offer the option to save the user name and password for you to simplify things.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

It is possbly wiser/better to use somethng like Outlook.com (it used to called hotmail.com) or Gmail.com.

If you use an email accont provided by your internet srrvice provider (your isp), then if you were to change isp you would lose the email acconut with that orginal isp, and have to create a new one (either with he new isp or something like gmail etc.).

I would opt (go) for gmail or similar, as that way it will survive any change in isp service you may make.

If you need a little more guidance on creating a gmail etc. account, respond here and more help will be forthcoming.

These links may also be useful to read - at least for a Gmail account:

https://support.google.com/mail/ans...

One tip - which I find useful to apply...

When you create your email account (user) name - include a period/full stop in your name (the part that preceeds @gmail.com

e.g.

If your user/account name was maryjane@gmail.com - make it something like mary.jane or mar.yjane

The inclusion of the period significantly reduces the SPM and fake emails you might otherwise receive; and also makes it hard for hackers... Similarly - if teh password options allo - include a perido there too.

e.g.

password2x2 might become pass.word2x2 or password.2x2

Again this makes hacking more difficult...
