Solved How to get photo paint 8 to recognise fonts in win 10

May 5, 2017 at 02:53:52
Specs: Windows XP
Corel photo paint 8 used for years now upgrading to windows 10 [32bit] Set compatability to XP and tried other setting but no difference, All runs just fine quick to load [better than X8 version] all seems to work but no fonts as during load 4 boxes pop up saying no fonts found,. Have tried reinstalling with different location for fonts, checking registry which shows correct location. Any ideas would be very welcome Why version 8 you may well ask, just use to it and it seems easier than later version.

"Have tried reinstalling with different location for fonts"
Weird fault. Windows 10 fonts are in exactly the same place as those for XP (C:\Windows\Fonts), unless Corel also has its own dedicated fonts folder.

Anything here that gives a clue?:

Hello:

As a followup to my CorelX4 font display problems, I went in to the Control Panel/Diplay and set my Hardware Acceleration down from the "Full" setting. This immediately cured the problem in CorelX4, and all my fonts displayed properly in the font dropdown menu and on the page. Then I downloaded and installed a new driver, and reset my Hardware Acceleration back to "Full". All my font functions are diplaying properly now - it was essentially a "refresh" problem.
