Solved How do I use Favorites folder on HD as bookmarks for Chrome?

Specs: Windows 10, e4400 intel/2gb
How do I...restore Chrome bookmarks? I had to: Uninstall Chrome >remove malware from my PC >Reinstall Chrome. My bookmarks are all deleted from Chrome. All of my bookmarks are NOT in another browser. They are in a Favorites folder with many subfolders all of which are full of various bookmarks. The Favorites folder is HERE: This PC >Local Disk (C) >Users >SR >Favorites.

I am trying to figure out how to import the entire Favorites folder with all its subfolders full of bookmarked sites into my Chrome Bookmarks as it all was before they were deleted from Chrome.

Thanks much,
Serob48

If they are in the Favorites folder then assume they are in IE or Edge so use the Import feature (try importing from both). I do not use Chrome so I cannot walk you through it but you should be able to Google it if you do not see it.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

I don't use Win10 but those favorites should be the IE Favorites, possibly Edge? Open IE (or Edge) to see if they're listed. If they are, all you should have to do is export them as an HTML, then use Chrome to import from that HTML.

I do not use Chrome but I assume that they also have the feature to import or copy directly from other browsers (like Firefox does) as well as import and export from file.

Or log back into Chrome with your Google account and they will import automatically. The favorites folder on your hard drive is for Internet Explorer, not Chrome.
