How do I stop the ads in the facebook gameroom playing board

November 3, 2018 at 10:22:59
Specs: Windows 10
In facebook gameroom many of the playing boards are running ads at the top. like Jam City for cookie blast. This slows game plying down to a crawl and often makes it impossible to play. How do I get rid of them? I have tried to change settings on Facebook, contacted the game apps and they still continue.

Hello, Thank you for responding. I have Adblock Plus installed. I should have been more specific. When I am playing a game in facebook game room there is a banner space above the playing board. This space usually shows other games that you can play with that developer. Up until recently, I had no issues. Take Cookie Jam Blast for example. instead of their usual other games there-there are all these ads from who knows where. There is a little box in the top right corner you can click on. I did that and choose to opt out of all ads. It wouldn't let me do it and the ads continue. I deleted the app then reinstalled it , that didnt work either. These ads were not there before.

These nuisance ads are constantly updated in terms of their software to circumvent ad blockers etc. It’s much like viruses/malware etc.

Hang about some as others here may have more useful and sage like offerings.

I can't comment about Facebook but "uBlock Origin" addon on Firefox has worked well in other situations. I now prefer it to AdBlock.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
