Specs: Windows 10
somehow I completely change what is on my desk top. desk top. Instead of saved files and icons, I have the start up windows from Windows 10. How did I do this? How do I change it back to the standard viewing??

Re my #2.
Just in case the location of the "settings button" foxed you, when you click the Window icon at the very bottom left you will find it the second icon up from the bottom, shaped like a cog wheel..

If System Restore happens to be switched on (it isn't always) then that is another option:

You choose a restore point just before the problem came along. It keeps your own stuff.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Right click on an empty part of the Taskbar > Toolbars.
Is Desktop checked or unchecked?
