My built in lenovo keyboard recently stopped working. None of the keys are stuck, so I know that the issue is an internal short circuit in the keyboard. However, there is this never ending beeping sound that I cannot disable. Please help.
If the beeping is caused by a faulty keyboard you'll need to get the keyboard replaced.
If the beeping is caused by something else like a bad memory module then the problem is different and the keyboard may not be a problem. Look on mfg's web site to see beep code for your system or Google Lenovo Beep Codes. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
"I know that the issue is an internal short circuit"
An internal open circuit is just as likely, if not more so.It's just possible it will work with an external keyboard - might be worth a try if you can borrow one. There could be a BIOS setting to disable the inbuilt keyboard and hence the associated beeps. Check inside to ensure a keyboard connector has not worked loose (either end). Otherwise it's keyboard replacement time.
Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
Also, before you make any hardware changes, check your Warranty.. Doing the best I can here... And remember, there's always more than one path to success. :)
Yes, good point from Jennifer at #4. Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
