Does not happen in hotmail.com for the same Micrsoft email account Name@msn.com. All threads I have seen to date point to options in WLM but that is NOT the answer.

I don't believe the issue is with WLM alone. All other email clients have the same problem forwarding email with attached files. I hope the link below will help you ...

Old version of what. Had the same problem with Windows 7,8 and now 10. Can't get an older version of WLM as it is not on Microsoft's web page.

No go tried the oldest version of 2012 and that has the same problem as what I started with. Before that I tried a 2011 release, see below, that wouldn't load so the solution you provided did not solve the problem.

I will tell you that I used control panel to unload the programs, then rebooted the PC and then tried to do the install EACH time. The bug is in 2012 but I can't explain why 2011 would not install unless it won't work with W10. Also the latest version of WLM is now giving errors stating that the program hit an error and is shutting down. But it gives you a chance to "debug" the error and clearly that doesn't work.

It is no wonder people gravate to Apple. They don't have to put up with Microsoft's trash to make their PC work. Every Apple install is flawless and smoth. Apple's problem is the total cost of ownership and always having to go to them for EVERYTHING but that is how they eliminate problems.

"I will tell you that I used control panel to unload the programs"
Try again with an uninstaller that gets much deeper.

"Do I have to sign up for something or register or pay to use one of these?"
No, freeware means Free.

"Will I lose all my files using one of these?"
You are only uninstalling WLM, yes you will lose all your WLM emails, address book etc.
You should already have them backed up, this is basic computing.
Everything important should always be backed up.

When I uninstalled with Control Panel I did not lose emails and address book. I don't have them backed up but to back up the two files is not a big deal but that said I have had too many times that the backups did not work. I can back the files up to the cloud or my external HD.

I worry about about reinstalling and that not working.

"When I uninstalled with Control Panel I did not lose emails and address book"
That is why we now have to use the Wise uninstaller, you have corruption in your files.

" but to back up the two files is not a big deal but that said I have had too many times that the backups did not work"
There are usually more than 2 files.
