Solved DVD drive somehow scratched DVD disc after dropped laptop

Specs: Windows 10, ???
A couple months ago I got a laptop, it play all DVDs fine. Then, I dropped my laptop from a short distance, and the DVD in it was suddenly scratched! the DVD in question was about one month old. It was not scratched and it was running fine before I dropped my computer. It won't show up in my drives menu at all! please help!

Is it just that one DVD or any DVD you put in the drive? If it's that one DVD only, you've damaged it and most likely will need to be replaced.

If the drive won't read any DVD's you may have jarred the connection loose or damaged the lens transport. Most DVD drives are removable so try removing the drive and re-inserting it using the manufactures instructions on how do to so. If that doesn't work then most likely the drive will need to be replaced.
