Solved Does Windows 10 override BIOS boot order on older mobos

August 17, 2015 at 06:55:37
Specs: Win XP, Win10
This site is useless, I recently asked a question and nobody managed to help I just got brushed of. My question is nowhere to be seen anymore, why?. Nobody here seems to understand what I asked. Here I go again: Since upgrading Win7 to Win10 I have been unable to access my 2 other Physical HDDs which have WinXP on them. Even the boot screen which used to come up when pressing F8 at restart has now disappeared.

This site is useless

If this site is useless, why do you keep asking question? While we fully understood your problem we do not have the correct answer because Windows 10 is only 19 days old. We are still studying and learning the behaviors of the new beast and develop methods that best tame it

Since upgrading Win7 to Win10 I have been unable to access my 2 other Physical HDDs which have WinXP on them

I am not sure what happened. How did you do the upgrade? Where did you get the Windows 10 installer? What instructions did you follow or did you do it blindly thinking what works for Windows 7 will work for Windows 10?

Even the boot screen which used to come up when pressing F8 at restart has now disappeared

That is because Windows 10 has F8 Safe Mode key disabled by design.

Thank you son, disabling fast start seems to have fixed everything. Sorry I was impatient the problem was getting me down.

If your missing question is this one then it isn't missing:

Bear in mind that this website is worked by volunteers from far and wide who only do this to help others in their own spare time. If you want to put yourself in a position to demand higher standards then you could always pay for them.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

My #3 overlapped with #2 - it wasn't there when I was posting.
