I use an Acer Aspire S13 laptop I need some advice on disabling Secure Boot. The process of accessing the BIOS and Security is easily understood as is the creation of a password. I want to create a Linux boot disk but I keep getting a protection error when trying to create the boot disk.

My fear is that once I have disabled Secure Boot and have created a password I may lock myself out of the system. My question therefore is can the procedure be reversed so that the password is discarded and Secure Boot is restored?

Regards

Hi,
Yes, you can enable secure boot after you have completed the task, make sure the password is easy to remember or write it down and keep safely, when you want to enable secure boot, go to BIOS Security tab, enter the Supervisor password, then you can clear the password by leaving the new password space empty.
