Specs: Windows 7, e6850/4GB
Before I reinstalled Windows 10, my Active Title bars were a different color to the Start Menu Tiles:

I can change the Accent Color by going to Personalize/Colors/, and I can switch on the "Show Accent Color on Active Bar" option... but I don't want the accent color; I want the different, darker one I had before.

Any idea how I did it? It's been years, and I've long forgotten.

I've tried the following regedits, but so far no luck:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors\ActiveTitle
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\ColorPrevalence

You shouldn't be messing about with the Registry to achieve that. Try changing to a different theme:

✔ Best Answer
Found it:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\AccentColor

But I couldn't enter the hexadecimel number manually, because it was reversed. I had to chose the OPPOSITE color of what i wanted (not 000041, but 410000), and it changed the Active Title bar to Dark Blue, *without* changing my Windows Accent (Start menu, etc).
