If the above does not work, you can try to copy the contents of the CD to a hard drive and then try to install the software from the hard drive rather than the CD. Has worked for me in the past.

Is this software on a disk, a download, the store, or something else?

Most likely it is not reading the source correctly.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Thanks for replying :-)

It's on a recordable CD.

First thing I would try is cleaning the CD.

Wash the CD in warm water with a little washing up liquid. Use your thumb to work from "center to outside" of the underside of the disk. Rinse it in clear water then use kitchen towel to ensure it is perfectly dry. Restart the computer and make sure it has settled down before trying the disk again.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Yes indeed, if a disk is in trouble it can often work from a copy, presumably because that is a less interactive process. Sometimes copying onto a new disk works too, although in some cases copying programs is prevented.

This worked!! Thanks for the suggestion. It didn't work with ALL the sections I wanted to install, but I'm just happy that the most important have been installed.

This is so appreciated!

thanks again
