Specs: Windows 10, i5/8gb
Hey i am using Lenovo Flex 2 idea pad with 8 gb ram and Samsung evo SSD things were going good and smooth am i was satisfied with the laptop performance there was not lag at all and HD videos were working flawlessly thanks to 8gb ram and SSD.

So what happened is i just opened a video on youtube and it was 1080p 50fps ( and it was bit laggy and so i thought to reboot it and things might be normal but the now everything is laggy Gmail takes a minute to open on the chrome browser and there is alot of stuttering while paying a video or to do daily task i have checked CPU Temperature(CPUID) its very normal around 40 to 45 degrees. I have also scanned for Malware or viruses using Bit defender and i dont know what else should i look for so i would request the good people here to help me out with the situation as this is the only source of income and work and entertainment for me in this Lockdown.

You "may" have acquired a few pests...

Download and run:

Malwarebytes has a rootkit option (if I remember correctly from posts by Johnw) - which enable...

Al three above have freebie versions which are al you need. Only difference between paid and free is that with the free you have to manually update and run the apps, whereas pay version updates for you...

And hang about for more input from Johnw and one or two others really well up on pest removal.

If there are logs generated, save them as Johnw (at least) would likely as for them...

Go to Control Panel and uninstall those programs you don’t use. Install CCleaner, it will help you to find and delete temporary files and results to speed up your PC. Moreover, use some browser extensions, or add-ons, as possible to speed up your browser

Just to add to the above, I recently contacted WOW about my bill. While on hold for many minutes one of the messages presented to me was that due to the Covid-19 stay at home issue the bandwidth is being stretched and sites like utube are degrading the quality of all video.

Reboot by using Restart (rather than shut down and start up again) unless that's what you did. On Win10 "Restart" clears more.

If is only online things that lag try checking your internet speed. It could be a server issue. Running YouTube before it happened may not be anything to do with it.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Good points by Derek and OtH...

Could well be current times/situation which is the problem; if it only lags, crawls, online - and on some popular sites?

Speed checks might help to show if it's a computer or a connection service issue?
