Specs: Windows 10 64bit, Core i5 2520/12gb ram
I have a dell latitude E6420, I'm installing a second OS on it, i have two HDD's in it right now, a 500gb and a 2tb, can I simply make a 500gb partition on the 2tb (with data currently on it, but 800gb free still) and clone my windows install to the new partition then wipe my 500gb drive and install the new os? im not worried about them both being in the bootloader, as im fine with pressing f12 to boot the right drive. as long as they both function. if there is something else i need to do, or if this will not work, please let me know!

If you can't play youtube (320p) on newer computers, then you know you got ripped off

You can clone the partition but you may need to do a start up repair unless you clone the entire drive or include the boot partition with it. You will also have to make both drives bootable in the BIOS and select the boot order of preference.
Since you purchased a new hard drive the hard drive mfg. should have the cloning utility available for a free download on their web site.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
