Specs: Windows, Didn't notice
I use a Lenovo Yoga 500 with windows 10. But when I update to win 10, I couldn't use my Microphone anymore. Then I find a Driver Link of Realtek and download it but I didn't notice that the Driver is for windows 8! So the install failed and I restart my Laptop. But the next time I run it, the screen was absolutely black! I can open the Task Manager but nothing else. How can I fix it? and also how to use microphone after fix it too.

Can you boot into safe mode? You will need to tap the F8 key continously while the machine is booting. then from the menu that appears select safe mode.

Once you are in safe mode you should be able to uninstall the ofending driver by navigating to control panel, opening up device manager, looking for anything that displays as a problem (usually an excalation mark or question mark) you can install update them

in your case locate the RealTek driver and if possible roll back, if that option isnt available then try to uninstall. once that is done restart and see if you can boot into windows normally..

Uh, I found some of the Drivers that have excalation mark. And it said I have already got the lastest updates. So should I uninstall it?

No, you will need to find the latest drivers for these with exclamation mark and install them, look on the manufacturers website.

Did you uninstall the RealTek drivers?

are you able to boot into windows normally now?

Not everyone is a member of Facebook or wants to join. If you have a photo upload it onto something like this:
http://www.zippyshare.com/
It does not require an account and is free.

Note that using F8 for Safe Mode does not apply to Windows 8 onwards. See here:

Glad to hear you no longer have the black screen.

Yes, see if there is a Windows 10 driver for your microphone (from Lenovo if it is built in, from the supplier if it is a separate).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
