Is this message from your email service - i.e. do you have an email account or anything else with charter.com?

This error message seems to be popping up fairly frequently here; and I'm wondering if yoi (and others) have malware/pestware infecting the system?

Might be useful to download and run a few pest removers.

Run the following:

adwcleaner:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...

JRT - Junkware Removal Tool:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...

JRT installs to the desktop from you run it. It will open into a dos style window; follow the instructions therein. It will reboot system as part of its process.

Malwarebytes (free):

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...

ccleaner:

http://filehippo.com/download_cclea...

and also download and burn to a DVD the ISO for Kaspersky Rescue Disk. This is a Linux based stand alone which disk loads into RAM only. It will go on line, update itself and then scan the system fully. It will find pests etc. that are hidden within the windows operating/system files and which cannot easily be removed (if at all) whilst windows is booted up.

This is another detailed how to use it - from another excellent site:

Retain any logs generated for possible reference later - by one or two others here who specialise in pest removal.

Initially I was tempted to suggest simply running Disk Clean and deleting al cookies, history files etc. But the above routine is more thorough; and ccleaner will do it anyway - as may the other utilities; whilst getting other assorted junk out of the way.

When you install the above utils (or any software you download off the web) use the manual/custom option; do NOT use the proffered/default automatic. Watch for and uncheck the (so helpfully) pre checked) boxes. Ensure you instal only the utility itself. This way you avoid installing all manner of add-ons nuisance ware etc. Much of which is a PIA to eradicate.
