Solved can't load 4.15gb link to 32gb tablet; in-storage browser fu

February 9, 2020 at 14:58:13
Specs: Windows 10
Have a 32gb Windows 10 tablet; received a link from NuVision to, I think, update drivers. The link is 4.5 gb; and 93% into the download (over 12 hrs later) it says the 'in-storage' browser is full. It'll complete when I free up storage...Now it's gone.
Not sure what to delete more. When to Shift-Control-Delete and got rid of cache and cookies. I have loaded in Chrone in addition to the Microsoft Edge (which I don't like); but, a few days back I put in Firefox cause the Microsoft Edge doesn't seem to want to load some things.
What else can I delete to be able to load this 'small 4.15gb' link. Where did I use 30gb....?

See More: cant load 4.15gb link to 32gb tablet; in-storage browser fu

Thanks. Not sure where I had used so much GB; but, your solutions appears to have removed enough 'stuff' so I could download the update link.

Thanks so much.

✔ Best Answer
"so I could download the update link"
Good news, after the updates have been installed, go through the cleaning process again.

I just had a long reply and it went away after I checked 'best answer'.
What happened was I got it downloaded but there wasn't a link to open it and do the software refresh. The link they gave me was through MEGA for Business. It had previously asked me to create an account and pay for a 'cloud'. I didn't want that. I emailed back to NuVision saying I wasn't going to pay for an upgrade for their tablet.
The download says TM101W545L OS.7z. I'll see if I can find such a thing somewhere else through my laptop.
Also, today, I got an email from NuVision saying I shouldn't download this 'link' on the tablet I want to use it on... I should have done this on my laptop and put it on a flash to take to the tablet. But, I'd still have the same issue of them wanting me to sign up for their 'cloud'.
We're leaving town in a few days...so, I guess I'll try to remember what I've done for when we return. In the meantime, before we leave, I will see if I can find another link. Then, I can do it on the laptop and put it on the tablet. Guess I'd have to 'dump' the download on the NuVision tablet first though.
It's late and I can't think anymore.
But, thanks for your help. I may be back so please don't close our 'talks'.

Thanks again.

I'll stay with you.
I'm here.

I've googled for a way to get your stuff, very little available that way.
Give me the Mega link & I will have a go.

There is a video & how to extract generic drivers from your laptop & use those.

You see, there is the problem: 32GB isn't enough for Windows 10 to run. Sure, you can start it up, and the first big thing you download ...
They are basically saying; download it from a machine that is up to modern standard, then bring it to your tablet with mediocre capabilities.

Also : 12h for 4 GB, that is slow. It should take you around 30 minutes, to max. 2 hours.

Thirdly: 4 GB ... in drivers ? What they mean is, 50K in drivers, and about 4GB in <insert vendor here>-bloatware

So, do you recommend that I do it again on the laptop; but it on a flash drive; insert it into the tablet and do that F7 to BIOS option for the flash drive? I did download it once before on the laptop; but, when I realized I couldn't get it to the tablet I deleted it.
I'll start over on the laptop and put it on the flash drive...

Thanks for your help.

Oh; but, I just recalled that I couldn't get off that website cause it appeared as though it wanted me to sign up for a service that I didn't want. It was through MEGA for business that I received from NuVision. I am not at all happy with NuVision; and, will do a post once I get this taken care of.

So, at this point I don't know how I get it from the laptop to the flash. I did 'google' the TM101W545L OS.7z but got all kinds of things I didn't understand.

That's all for now

For anyone. I found the TM101W545L )S.7z that I downloaded on my laptop before I realized it was too large to send in an email to my tablet to download this software update.
I'm trying to put it on a flash drive. I have a USB 3.0 64gb and when I try to 'copy and paste' that 4.15gb 'fix' it says I don't have enough room for the 4.15 file. I have 64gb free on this flash. What am I missing.....

Thanks

Try the Move to option.

I tried to move it over and got the same thing.
I just formated the 64gb flash and got the same message...

I'm not sure what this is below...I've tried to 'copy 'n paste' the downloaded file but it won't give me 'paste' as an option.

I created another file ending in .7z.crdownload; but, when I see the bottom on the file explorer it says that is 'failed - insufficient permissions.

I finally got the opened downloaded file to download to the computer but a message came up now that says...can't copy paste so this is what is says.

X at top saying it came from my downloads/TM...etc.
Larer X This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page.

This is a laptop; and, I don't think I have apps with this - only on my Android phone and/or Windows 10 Tablet, right?

This is getting worse....

Watching the video link I gave you, I don't think you have installed on your laptop, a program to open 7zip.

I use PeaZip
https://www.softpedia.com/get/Compr...
http://www.freewarefiles.com/PeaZip...
http://www.freewarefiles.com/screen...
http://giorgiotani.interfree.it/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/peazip

From the video, you will see he opens everything onto the Desktop.
Don't know what you want to update, but probably not everything you have downloaded.

OK, I have opened PeaZip and see the TM.... folder. Opening that I see, at the bottom TEST_TOOL.zip. I'm opening that; says 43.2 mg. Oops. Now it's opened to a folder called TEST TOOL; clicked to open that. Now, there's a list with several .exe files...Not sure which one to use. The options are:
Accelerometer; Autio, AudioHeadset, Battery, Bluetooth, Brightness, Compass, Display, ExternalDisplay, FrontCamera, FrontCameraSkin, GenerateSystemSettings, Geolocation, Gyrometer, HardwareButton, Inclinometer, Keyboard, LightSensor, Orientation, Pen, RearCamera, RearSameraSkin, RemovableDevice, SFTClassic, SIM, SystemInfoTest, Touch, Touchpad and WiFi.
Some seem not at all correct; but, there seems to several options; which would you suggest.

Must say here how you are so patient with this 'senior'. I'm not understanding most of what you're saying; but, I think I'm doing everything you're asking.

"I'm not understanding most of what you're saying"
You are going pretty good.
I am learning as I go along, never done this before on a NuVision tablet.

"received a link from NuVision to, I think, update drivers"
If your assumption is correct, the video shows where they are.
The whole procedure is very complicated.

Run this on your tablet. No need to install drivers, just upload SS ( screenshots ) of what it finds.

Oh my, this seems very confusing. It's late now so I will attempt to take care of this in the morning. We are leaving town in a few days; was going to take the tablet; but, may have to take the laptop because we are expecting important emails.
I have noticed that several of my replies that I thought had been sent previously have 'edit message' under them. I went in to 1 of them, I think, and may have sent it. So, sorry, if you think I have not been trying what you are suggesting.
I think if I go back through all of them now it'll make everything much more confusing.
When I first went to NuVision several weeks ago, it was after I found a download for NuVision; but, since I didn't know where it really came from I emailed NuVision to ask...that was the first mistake. I think I should have just downloaded what I found and if it messed things up I could have restored the tablet to before I did it.
I will take a look at that screenshot thing in the morning.

Where do I upload these SSs; and, you show several sites under Screenshot.
Need to pack up our travel trailer soon so I really will try to do this in the morning sometime.

Thanks again...
I am going to 'submit follow up' and will see if it sends....
It didn't work...now I'll try 'preview changes' first and will see if it sends this time...
Still shows note that says 'edit this message. Will try again...
No. will try 'preview' first...again.

This is so frustrating.....
and, again
and, again - submit this time

this is what I keep getting:

Most posters just say use Snail Driver & you have to find it yourself.

Oh, I think we're talking about to different things. The above was what I was trying to run to get to something to do the screenshot for you. I never got that far.

If it's drivers that I'm trying to fix what link do you suggest? I will try to do whatever you send again; but, then we're leaving town and won't be back til Mid-March.

Oh, one questions.....When I send a message, will there always be that area at the bottom that has the arrow and 'Edit This Message'? Is that in case I want to do that? I thought it meant the message was never sent and I needed to 'edit' something.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Jeanine48,

Every message that anyone posts says "Edit This Message" at the bottom,
except for the original post of the thread. Only the person who posted the
message (plus the forum moderators) see that link. The link is there so
that if the person who posted the message wants to change something in
it after posting it, they can.

If you want to edit one of your posts, you can. You don't need to.

You have posted 18 messages so far in this thread. Did you try to post
more than those?
