When I try to burn a DVD, it get an error that windows does not recognize/can't read the disc" Make sure the disc used a format that windows recognize" I know I have burned DVDs before, but won't work now. When I try to format the blank dvd, it won't get me an option to do that.
What software are you using to format/burn your discs? If your trying to burn/format DVD's with Windows itself, have a look at this article.

You do not have to format a CD or DVD, but you do need to use a burning program.
Try CDburnerXP: https://cdburnerxp.se/en/home
There's many types of CD's and DVD's
Frankly, it's a bit of a mess. Some hardware accepts this, some accepts that, some accepts most, some accepts only some, etc. etc.
First step, look what it says on your disc, like DVD+R for example, and see if you have written discs with exactly that before, or not.
It's a lot about these - and + signs
Yes (14) | ![]() | |
No (14) | ![]() | |
I don't know (15) | ![]() |
