Specs: Windows 10
I know I can use ddr3 1066 MHz or 1333 MHz memory. I have a chance to up my machine to 24GB, and have access to 1600 MHz sticks for sale at a good price.

See this:

Chances are that the 1600MHz sticks will run at 1333MHz by default but you may have the option in your BIOS to set it manually or run an XMP profile that may be saved on the memory sticks though this will not be shown by Dell in their paperwork.
It says it will run ECC and Non-ECC memory but all will probably have to be the same type.
It is always best to purchase matched pairs of memory rather than random single sticks because dual channel mode will work best that way.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

And another way to see what is best for any given computer.

Run the crucual.com app to scan the system. It will then advise what types of RAM are best for that computer. It's a wee small download and safe to allow/run.

You don't have to buy from them - although I have in the past and been very happy with their memory sticks. Occasionally you will find their recommended sticks online e.g.Egghead or Amazon for a lesser price too.
