Built in Microsoft Backup Tools vs. Third-party Solutions?

Specs: Windows 10
I was never a fan of Microsoft built-in utility. and I get used to use third-party software like MiniTool ShadowMaker, which is easy to use and save me a lot of work. When it comes to system backup, what's your first option? And why?

I use Windows back up to a second internal drive. I also make a drive image and keep Windows 7 recovery disk if reinstall from image and back up is ever needed. For additional protection, I duplicate important files/folders (Copy/Paste) into other networked computers at home. This works for me.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
