Check the Windows volume (speaker icon in Task Bar on the right near the clock). On the speaker icon there may be an option to open the sound mixer which will have more than one basic volume control.
Check the manual volume control that are on most external plug in speakers.
See if there is a volume control on the keyboard that might or might not be connected to the Windows volume control.
Go to Control Panel > Sounds and see if there are more settings there.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

A lot of info missing...
Desktop or laptop? Did you install the audio drivers? Onboard or HDMI audio? Are you using speakers or headphones?

I'm sorry for not enough info. I have a HP Desktop, the drivers were automatically installed (so could check for more drivers), and the speakers are Logitech USB speakers. The Device Manager says I have a USB driver as well as Speakers (Realtek high definition Audio).

Thanks for you interest. Uncle Dewey

Also go to your audio player and see if there is a volume setting there.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

The advanced settings let me direct Firefox sound to my remote speakers, plus added a place where I could volume at max.

Thanks a whole bunch, Ulnce Dewey
