ASUS laptop X451C problem with cursor and typing

August 24, 2015 at 19:44:42
Specs: Windows 10

I have been searching all over the internet with the issue of my cursor/touchpad/keyboard that has gone haywire. it is everytime u want to type something (login password, word document, etc) the pointer keeps jumping to the left of the bar or space and it sometimes types in everything backwards!!! when i go to a folder the thing just keeps jumping around all over the place or stays to the left or the right even expanding folders, views are affected by it. i have reinstalled my laptop, even wiped it clean and reinstalled still nothing. it happened once before, i reinstalled and worked... now it there is just no way out. even plugging a keyboard and mouse to it still does the same thing.

any advice would be most grateful!

Is Windows 10 preinstalled on this laptop or did you do Windows 10 upgrade?

I upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7 and for a few weeks the screen pointer has had a mind of it's own. It floats around and will not stay where I want it to stay. However, I think I've cured it a few minutes ago. Click START, select SETTINGS, type "Control Panel" in the search box. When the control panel appears click on MOUSE and clear all ticks from all boxes in that section. (I left a tick in "Show position of cursor when ctrl is pressed") That seems to have worked for me.

Further to my post above.

The problem is not completely cured. It still floats around a little bit but is a lot better. I'll keep searching for a cure.
