Specs: Windows 10 Pro, Intel 6 Gb
For some unexplained reason, all my application links have disappeared from my desktop panel. They are still present and visible in the windows explorer, but none is visible on the desktop. In addition, I can no longer create a link on the desktop.

Does anybody know this problem ? is it due to a virus ? what can I do ?

Many thanks in advance for your appreciated help.

Is it possible that your desktop has become oversized and they are off the screen to the side? Go into your display properties and set your resolution to the native resolution o your monitor and see if that helps.

Not sure if this works on Win10, but the same thing occasionally happens on my Win7 desktop. Right-clicking on the blank area and choosing "Refresh" solves the problem. Hope this may be of use...

This may sound simple, but if you have not tried it yet, simply restart the machine. Itvery well may solve this issue.
If not then try tapping F8 at start up and see what repair/restore options are offered (like System Restore in Windows 7).
Run Malwarebytes to see if there is malware that may be causing it, delete anything it finds and post the log (copy/paste) here in a reply for review.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
