Acer Aspire ES15 unable to set up

September 4, 2019 at 17:07:46
Specs: Windows 10
Hi, I recently sold my laptop. It was working fine and I rarely used it. My girlfriends mum needed a new laptop so I decided to make it easy and suggested my laptop. We did the reset to factory and the next day my GF went through set up.

Everything looked normal - the Acer logo appeared and the boot screens looked exactly like they had when I'd turned the computer on. But then it moved to "Just a moment..." with the spinning dots." and that is all I get. We've tried a few times and this happens at different steps of the set up process each time.

Really at a loss - Can anyone help>?

So its back at setup mode. IS there a way to get to safe mode or bios before the laptop has been set up?

Hi. This is the video I followed to perform the initial reset to factory. Now I turn the laptop on to set it up and it starts the set up process but after about 60 seconds it freezes and I have to turn it off. It froze for over an hour the first time, not I turn it off an try again every so often but it freezes every time. Is there a way to reset it again? I've tried a few things but can't get to the menu to try resetting again.

Does it have Windows 10 installed?
Do you have the DVD for the operating system?
Do you have an RW-DVD?
Do you have an thumb drive?
If so, what capacity?

I cannot locate the DVD
Just waiting to confirm the RW - DVD
I can get hold of a thumb drive - What size do I need?

Lets try Lazesoft, only a small thumb drive or CD is needed.

How to use a Lazesoft Windows Recovery CD or USB device to fix the boot problems if your Windows operating system does not start correctly.

What key are you pressing to get into the bios?

Have you seen this?

EDIT:
BIOS is before Windows starts (effectively hardware) so you should be able to go there even if Windows is not available.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Hi. Re-checked and we can get into BIOS. Is there anything we can do here to help stop the screen freeze and complete the set up?

Did you try Lazesoft?

If you have.

Download Windows 10 Media Creation Tool, or the The Update Assistant can help you update to the latest version of Windows 10.
