Is there a way to have a truly live WordPress page that updates for the viewer without them having to do anything? I'm not wanting a meta refresh but rather something that loads information from an external source (like Google Sheets, but doesn't have to be), constantly monitoring that source, and then when something changes the page updates instantly and plays a short notification sound.

I'm not wanting the end-user to have to modify their usual browsing behaviour. I'd just like them to have the page loaded in their browser and whether it's the tab in view or not it will 'beep' them if anything has changed.

Is there a way for WordPress to do this or to incorporate another tool that can?

Many thanks.

To be sure, it's a beautiful theme and it even has the word 'beep' in its name, but apart from that, it has nothing to do with my request.
