Specs: Windows 98/Windows 7/Mac OS X, ?
I know you can do this in asp and perl, and im pretty sure it can be done in php. I need something like When you click on a button, or enter something into a text field, and something on the page changes without reloading the page. How can this be done in php?

What you're referring to is AJAX, it's javascript technology, the server-side language (asp, perl, php, ruby) doesn't matter.

Pretty much every javascript framework out there supports doing this, but my favorite is jquery for it's simplicity -

Would load the content of into the id="container" element.

For form validation though, I would recommend the jquery Validation plugin, or I've used validationEngine a few times & like the way it looks.

I'll install the jQuery plugin, as jQuery is the main scripting I use for my site. What is the syntax for the validation plugin?
