I've designed a website for a friend, made it on my IMac, published it to a folder on my computer and emailed it, but my friend has a PC and cannot open the 'index.html' file. Can any one help? Very grateful if you can :-) Julie
It shouldn't make any difference where you created the HTML file; it's just a text file. I can only think that it has somehow got corrupted in transfer. How exactly did you email the folder? You can't send folders and their contents as such, you have to zip them up into a file or something like that.
Thanks for that. I've solved the problem. I sent the file as a zip, and when my friend unzipped it, the step they left out was to copy and paste the files into a new folder. When they did this, they could open the file ok. Julie
