A domain name just gives you the right to use that name, and provides DNS services for it. It may also provide mail hosting. If you want to run a web server you need to either run your own or purchase (or obtain free) webhosting. You then point your domain name to that web server (make sure that this is possible before purchasing hosting - it may not be with free hosting which often requires a particular URL).
