Hi guys, I have created several blogs over the past couple years for different clients but I always running into the same problems so I wanted to get some opinions on the best ways. Answer me this..

What is the best way to avoid the weird characters?

What is the true way to use the addslashes/stripslashes?

Basically I want to take the text, put it into the database and then display it the way it went in. Also there is a rich text editor so there are quotes involved with the style tags as well.

Any and all opinions are welcome..

Thanks guys.

You could use an editor like TinyMCE or CK Editor. These are two that I know work - but I'm guessing you're looking at a bespoke solution to submit the text without having to install any third party app?

TinyMCE is my favourite WYSIWYG editor. It's pretty powerful and you can integrate it well with most programming languages. There are plenty of others out there.

If you're looking to go the bespoke route, I know there are ways to pre-format the text that you're inputting but I can't think of it off the top of my head. Sorry!
