Please tell us how you are transferring the file from unix to windows. I suspect you are using ftp. If so, make sure ftp is set to ASCII mode.

Thanks nails for giving quick reply. This was the first question I have posted on computing.net. ftf/MQ is being used to do file transfer. The following command is being used to tranfer a file.
${SCRIPT_DIR}/ftf -compress -label ${LABEL} -sqm ${SQM} -spath ${SPATH}/$i -dqm ${DQM} -dpath "${DPATH}${DSEPARATOR}${DEST_FILENAME}" -notifystat ALL -notifytype ${NOTIFY_TYPE} -notifydata ${xxx} -notifyq ${NOTIFYQ} -notifyqmgr ${NOTIFYQMGR} -wait ${WAIT} -nofixit
Here I am assuming that ASCII mode is the default file transfer type for this transfer.
If not, how do I specify the file transfer type. Thanks for your timing.

Sorry, but I have never worked with ftf/MQ. I did find this document online:

http://www.cbttape.org/xephon/xepho...

Look on page 17.

You never did say how the record alignment is different between unix and windows. It's been discussed a lot on this forum, but the record separator on windows is a carriage-return/line-feed where on unix it is just a line-feed. Could that be your issue?
