If you're new to scripts, I would question why you would need to perform such a specific and advanced task. Your questions lacks a great deal of information, such as how the files are being accessed between the computers (such as FTP, HTTP,SCP, Samba, or NFS).

If you just need to mirror files from one computer on another and keep them synchronised, you may want to look into rsync.

Files are transfered between computers by SCP. In our project currently they are using rsync for transfering latest files from unix to webserver. But not have an idea of how to use rync to transfer files from window to unix. If anybody had used plz guide me how to make use of rsync.
