Hi friends

I already posted my problem with my script(thanks to nails for his repose) but some how awk script making the things complicated..
so i'm seeking a much effective code.let me explain my scenario

i'm having a csv file with some columns with column names
Datafile.csv contains so many records like below

Lastname FirstName Suffix Speciality Status Title Expirydate City State Zip
Gefffry John JR Pediatrics Active MD 09/12/2011
Dean Loobro SR Numerology Active MD 09/12/2011
carlos Moya HIV/AIDS Active MD 09/12/2011

and there is another Spec.csv file like

speciality code
Pedaitrics 250US
Cardilogy 22CR
Painmangement 17PM

i want to replace the Speciality value in Datafile.csv with the code in Spec.csv and the unknown specialities in this case
Numerology shud be placed in a seperate file...

please help me writng the code using unix

I answered this question in the other thread. You should be able to easily modify it.

But I thought I would point out that the Suffix in your data file appears to be optional. awk will not like this. This is a problem you have to fix.
