How to install Seagate ST32430N SCSI on OVMS5

November 18, 2010 at 01:19:57
Specs: OVMS 5.5, HDD
I have added a new Seagate ST32430N 2.1 GB SCSI HDD on OVMS5.5 system, the server has recognized the disk as DKA200: When I start to Initialize the disk I receive "Fatal Disk Error". There is another ST32430N (RZ28M firmware 568) intalled on the server and it is working properly. But the firmware of the disk I am trying to instal is 558. Do I have to upgrade the firmware or I should do some thing else.
Please help

I'm not familiar with OVMS5.5, but this issue commonly occurs when the installed driver cannot interact with the firmware on the device. You will need an updated driver or you will need to downgrade the firmware on the device. If an updated driver is available, that is the obvious path to follow.
