Specs: Windows XP
hi. I have a coredump question. I generated an application on development machine(SunOS),however,I had to move it through windows xp to a QA machine(SunOS) for testing. when I run the application on QA machine,an error message shows: Illegal instruction(coredump).
Could anybody tell me what reason cause the coredump?
Thank you in advance.

You need to use a debugger to analyse the core dump. Once you can establish at what point the program is failing the reason might become obvious.

Strange, if the two machines are identical, that it causes a coredump on one but not the other.

You mentioned moving it thru windows XP. That is probably where your problem is. How did you move it - using ftp? If you did use ftp make sure to use the binary move while in ftp. ASCII is generally the default.

I can see moving in some extra line feeds causing trouble.
