Admins - would it be possible U can change some re-arrangement in the replies ?

when someone replies to our question - our new replies are not quoted next to their solution- for example - https://www.computing.net/answers/d...

when someone replies to my question - instead of my answer going under theirs - my reply just goes way down the bottom- this is confusing for the people trying to read the comments. Please can u change it so our answer is quoted under their solution -and not way down the bottom ?

I don't see why, i mean this site ain't reddit.

generally there are no more than 5 asnwers anyways and if there are more, then it's probably only 2 people left commenting in chronological order.

besides you could have used the RE #(commentvalue) solution, or even one of their names to specify, which you can still do, just edit your comments.

You've been posting on & off in these forums for close to 10 years. Why is the way replies are arranged suddenly become a problem?

If you want to reply to a specific question asked in one of your responses, simply copy/paste it in your reply & put it in quotes. You can even make it bold or italicized (or both) so it stands out, like this:

"Please can u change it so our answer is quoted under their solution -and not way down the bottom ?"

Nope.

I expect the poster to read ALL the replies to their thread. That should go for the folks posting replies too. That doesn't always happen.

I recall several years ago a discussion here about automatically echoing previous replies in each new response the way some sites do. That gets to be cumbersome, confusing and certainly annoying. I'm glad the administrators here didn't go in that direction.

I can certainly see how automatically echoing previous replies could be annoying. ;-)
