Why bother asking?

Specs: N/A
Everytime I load Firefox onto a PC as an alternate browser (after PC repairs) I install it and it asks if I want firefox as the default browser, I click no and continue installing.

Then when I open firefox for the first time...VOILA, there it is again....do you want firefox to be your default browser, so I once again click no and also uncheck the setting that says alert me each time.

Then to top it all off, a message drops down from the toolbar and says Know your rights....what kind of trash is that? Are they so desperate in their attempt to be the default browser? Firefox IMHO has a long ways to go, seeing that it is just a glorified netscape browser that has to have EVERY pluggin installed seperately. That is a real joke.

Also it is much slower than IE7 (I refuse to use IE8 because it is as slow as firefox on opening on my XP pc's) I have to use IE8 on my windows 7 pro and on there it is still faster that firefox....I only use firefox as an alternative. I hate opening it and then it sits there saying, wait while we update, untill it opens.

IE will probably be the ruler for many years to come as it has most pluggins that are required, kind've more of a no muss, no fuss browser, and also the fact that you need IE in order to get your critical updates on your PC.

I use Homestead for one of my website builders and recently they made firefox their exclusive browser when you save and view the published page. They will probably give us an opportunity to choose which browser to use for previewing as I chewed them out pretty good.
It takes 2 minutes longer to preview with firefox for some reason.

I think the key word is bother.

Likely

I want to go like my grandfather did. Peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming at the top of my lungs like the passengers in his car.

I think you should also post this on Firefox's own forums.

I use FF alongside IE6, as in many respects FF is better. Am stuck with IE6 as my os is W2000

IE6 has increasing problems due to webpages evolving. It is not being supported that well even though understand MS promised this.

There is the occasional FF hiccup but I live with this. One day I shall get around to reporting.

A point of interest, in Europe ms have been forced to 'unbundle?' IE and offer alternative browsers.

Those offered I have never heard of and FF is not included. Surprise, surprise!

Good Luck - Keep us posted.
