I'm just curious, is anyone else here a Star Trek fan? you must answer these questions to qualify:

1. what year was the Federation formed?
2. Who was the captain of the StarShip Enterprise, A.K.A NCC-1701?
3. what is the name of the Klingon homeworld?
4. What kind of tea does Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the NCC-1701-D like?

If you cannot answer these 4 questions, i will not talk with you on the matter of Star Trek, you are not a true star trek obsessive fan. Please do not clutter up my beautiful chat room with illogical nonsense. (no offense)

1) October 9, 2161

2) Christopher Pike then James T. Kirk then Spock

3) Early in TOS it was referred to as "Klinzhai" in TNG ep. "Heart of Glory" it was called "Kling". In Star Trek VI it was finally set as Qo'noS (Kronos).

4) Earl Grey "Hot"

And yes Ewen I do have the uniform and have attended the conferences. lol

Hey likelystory

If you go by the last Star Trek movie, it's actually
1) Christopher Pike
2) Spock
3) James T. Kirk

Remember, Spock becomes acting captain before Kirk does. Kirk has to prove young Spock is emotionally compromised before he can take over.

But if you go by the original series it's just James T. Kirk

1) 2161
2) Assuming you meant "NCC-1701-A" it's James T. Kirk
3) Qo'noS (Pronounced "Kronos")
4) Earl Grey (one of my fav's too)

Sorry OLDISGOOD but you've failed (see my answer to 2 above) so I can't talk to you. You're not a real Trekkie

Re #3 - that link was fun.
Mind you, I've spent years trying to get a DOS prompt on my fish tank...

@Curt R

In the original series "Star Trek" The first captain of the enterprise was Pike though he was only there for the pilot then later in "The Menagerie" a two part episode.

Don't frorget the animated series where Robert April was the first captain. No self respecting trekki watch this series however.

It's been so long since I watched the original series that I don't recall Pike ever being mentioned in it so I'll have to accept that you have a better memory than I do (highly likely) and admit you're correct.

Actually, as far as the individual TV-series go, I'd say this:

TOS - Know virtually every episode word for word. Saw it "live" when growing-up.
ENT - Really liked it. Thought it died before it's time (and I didn't like the finale).
VOY - Pretty good, but a little too "clean".
TNG - So, so. Was reluctant to watch at first (being a TOS die-hard).
DS9 - Probably haven't seen 5 complete episodes.

And if you want to get picky, Robert April pre-dated Pike as commander of the Enterprise (NCC-1701):

I could never get into DS9. Growing up during the space race with the orinal series as a back drop it was all about the ship for me. The few times I tried to watch DS9 it seemed to be all about the transporter.

I was rather upset when Enterprise was cut. I loved that show and it seemed to me a lot of shows that sucked got a much longer run. I have all the episodes in my computer. When I get board I watch a few. I too hated the finale. I thought Voyager was just a little too pc.

That I know of Robert April was never mentioned on any of the shows until the cartoon. I don't remember when it started running but I never watched it. As a kid I didn't see any star trek comics until I was older
