Hey,

Thank you!!!

Thank the new community manager Joe Pishgar and the design team for it... It was his idea to do a cooler design, and he oversaw it. I just did the final lift. Also, thank him and another member for the new Biography feature. Unfortunately I can't remember who recommended it to me a while back, so, whoever did, let me know so I can thank you!

Justin

Thanks XpUser4Real and Justin!

We're spending some time making improvements and updates to what users see here on Computing.net, and part of those optimizations have to do with user profiles, which you are seeing now.

You'll also notice that medals/badges that are being awarded each have their own unique icon for bronze, silver and gold levels. We're working on amping up the level of participation by all members of the community, and tweaks like this really help go a long way towards showing folks we care about how things look and what we present.

In the near future, you'll see more updates and improvements coming down the pike. And if you have any ideas for awesome things you'd like done, hit up either myself or Justin via PM or email and let us know - we'll make it happen if we can.

-Joe

Like the new Biography option. It's via settings if anyone hasn't spotted it.

Now you've drawn attention to it I'd better leave it that way for a while LOL.

I couldn't find a way to edit it out completely, although maybe a single space would do it.

EDIT:
Now sorted (#10).

If there isn't anything in there it doesn't show up it looks like.

Yeah, that's right. But so far I've only found how to overwrite it with something else but not to leave it empty again. Maybe Justin can confirm or perhaps that's just how it is.

EDIT:
Now sorted (#10).

Hey,

If you are looking at your own page, you will see the biography with the edit button, even if there is nothing there (like you've deleted your biography). This is to let people know they can put one there. However, if you are looking at someone else's page and there is a blank or no bio, it won't show up.

Forget it.

Brain failure - I didn't do Set/Change after I blanked it out.

Hi,

with the extra manpower, please could (re)consideration perhaps be given to showing the number of views a thread has received, in addition to the answers for such.

Many other forums include this.

Correlation between this figure and header content might be an eye opener for new posters.

Thanks - Mike
