Specs: Windows 7
I wanted to make a survey to get to know what browser most users here on computing.net use.
So what browser do you use and why?

I was an avid user of Firefox until recently when it seemed to me that it was becoming bloated and some of my add-ons stopped working. I uninstalled the latest version and re-installed version 18.0.1 which works well and is back up to speed. I also use Chrome in cases where FF does not respond.

IE10 and Firefox on Windows 8. Both seem fine and it's hard to say which I use most.
On YouTube I use Firefox with Adblock, for obvious reasons.

Of-course, the value (or not) of this poll will depend on how many responses (samples) you get.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

ie8, (on winxp). I favor IE mostly due to it being MS fodder, and therefore more compatible with automation such as vba and vbscript, but also because I'm familiar with its layout. I do get a lot of complaints from web pages nagging me to upgrade. I give them the usual "flip-off" and things seem to work ok regardless.

Generally Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP.

It's guaranteed to work with any website and it's the only approved browser at my job with thousands of workstations. So it's my choice at home at well.

If TSG finds any other browser installed it will immediately uninstall it remotely.

I use Chrome on my PC, iPad & iPhone. The bookmarks are stored online so I have access to them no matter which device I'm using.

Re #5

"It's guaranteed to work with any website"

Not so sure about that - I don't think it can tackle HTML5 for example. As far as I know the only updates are for Security.

Everyone's experience is different of-course, but I found it hanging on so many websites with XP that I moved to Firefox.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I use Chrome on all of my computers (Win 7 & 8) and on my phone. I use IE 9/10 if something doesn't work in Chrome.

You've been helped by a 15 year old.
