I was wondering if computing.net would spotlight the top 20....I think it would show the hard work of the members?

Hey,

That is a good idea, but part of the issue is a fair number of those people are not active on the site anymore. I'm actually not the person who asks people to do Spotlights, Joe Pishgar is. We've been asking lots of people, but he's having a very hard time getting people to agree to do them. I'm not sure his criteria for selection though. He bases it on a lot of things. Its definitely not easy.

Thanks!
Justin

As a linked aside to this, there is a biography feature which I don't think people use much. Then, if anyone is interested all they need to do is click on the name and read it.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Derek,

Yeah, its not used that much... But, I just checked, 470 people have actually added one. I was surprised. I don't know how many of those are actually useful entries though.

Wow, 470, I didn't realize it had been used that much. I'll have to do some clicking.

Derek,

Yeah, just bear in mind that count tells me nothing about the content. 95% of then could be one word or one space.

By the way, if anyone has any great ideas for candidates for the Member Spotlights, please feel free to post them to this thread. Would love to hear your thoughts on who would make a great spotlight interview. :)

I might suggest trying to get as many of the top 20 as requested, or maybe even the top 50...I know there are many.
Thanks

Re #3. Hey Justin.

Just found that "Analyst", who currently happens to be in Spotlight, has done his Biography too. That lead me to looking at some of his responses. Interesting to see that he doesn't just throw fixes at a problem but uses his knowledge to live up to his name. Nice to see - glad this thread was raised, good to find out about people one way or another.

I was obviously quite wrong to assume that Biographies were being neglected.

I started on here a long time ago, I just haven't been active for awhile. (Keep in mind usernames are case sensitive here. I started off as "analyst" I think in the first year or so then changed, or created a new alias "Analyst" later.)

I remember seeing Derek and XpUser4Real here for awhile.

Most my Internet forum activity lately has been security related LinkedIn groups and IPVM.com, but I like coming back here from time to time with questions and see what's going on.
